Thematic Leaders
Meet our Thematic Leaders, who share their expertise in key areas and help the advisory community strengthen its skills and knowledge.

Francis Flénet

Environmental assessment expert with 25+ years’ experience in protein and oil crops. Recognized expertise in LCA, GHG emissions, agronomy and climate-smart cropping systems. Leading multi-partner initiatives, synthesizing scientific knowledge and translating research into practical solutions to support the transition of European farming systems.

Pete Berry

Dr Pete Berry is a crop physiologist and the Head of Crop Physiology at ADAS. Based at ADAS High Mowthorpe in North Yorkshire, Pete seeks to improve crop performance and reduce pollution of cropping systems through an understanding of crop physiology, plant breeding and agronomy. Prior to ADAS, he was a post-doctoral researcher in crop science at Nottingham University.

Ben Hague

Ben Hague has been a Crop Physiology consultant at ADAS for over 2 years, based at the Gleadthorpe office in Nottinghamshire. His research aims to sustainably improve crop performance through an understanding of crop physiology and agronomy. Specialisms include arable crop nutrition, root growth and pulse crops

Malou Mireur

Malou is an engineer working on the environmental impact of fruits and vegetables. She is more specialised in the carbon footprint of production. Her team developed Carbone F&L, a tool to calculate the carbon footprint of fruit and vegetable farms. This tool is used in the project for French farms. She also support the advisors in carrying out the AMPs.

Ariane Grisey

Ariane Grisey is an energy and environmental engineer with over twenty years of experience at CTIFL. She heads the Environment and Energy Unit and specialises in greenhouse energy, climate control and environmental impacts. She contributes to French & European projects on renewable energy, carbon assessment and sustainable fruit and vegetable production, combining research, expertise and training.

Lisa Sinnhuber

Lisa is a Research and Innovation officer at IFAOM Organics Europe, the European umbrella organisation for organic food and farming. Her academic background is in social ecology, with a focus on sustainable agriculture and nutrition. At IFOAM Organics Europe, she have been implementing various Horizon projects, with a special focus on climate-related projects like ClieNFarms and OrganicClimateNET.

Alessandro Zatta

Senior researcher at CRPA specializing in regenerative agriculture, soil-plant interactions, and soil carbon storage. Key roles include Thematic Leader for Forage Production, Monitor of the ‘FERTY’ Living Lab in the CFD project, and National Coordinator for CSA. Holding a European PhD in soil carbon dynamics, past experience spans crop eco-physiology R&D and biogas agronomic management.

Sixtine Fauviot

Sixtine is an agricultural engineer and manager of the Etablières Experimental Farm, a beef cattle research farm in France. Her work focuses on innovative livestock systems, including the role of trees in farming and agroforestry. Within CLIMATE FARM DEMO, she serve as Thematic Leader for Agroforestry, drawing on the farm’s research and practical experience in this field in field trials.

Based in Portugal, Maria has extensive experience in research and innovation projects, stakeholder engagement, and the development of sustainable solutions for agriculture and climate action.

Rouille Benoit

Benoit is working at the French Livestock Institute, as an expert on dairy cow nutrition and feeding systems. He is in charge of regional, national and european projects delaing with milk production, feed-food competition, land use and carbonfootprint. On this last issue, providing efficient strategies to farmers for reducing methane emissions is a critical on-going work for the dairy industry.

Barbara Amon
